Even though the name is Alexander, I prefer Jason. Unless you're my sister Daniela or my sister-by-association, Audra, who call me A.J.--I still prefer Jason. I was born and raised in Boston, Ma. Yes, I have one of those funny accents. And yes, I do say "wicked." I admit I'm one of those priviledged, frat brah types but there's more to me than that. I don't have a sense of entitlement and you'd think I grew up on the streets of Dorchester instead of Jamaica Plain. I do enjoy the hip hop. My jeans are bit more relaxed than some. My manner of speaking is toned down than years past but I'm still smooth as silk.
There's nothing better than summers at Fenway watching the Sox. Unless you count winters watching the Celtics. I have an abundance of hometown pride. Hell, I even go on those Duck tours just to soak up the sights. Who does that? Besides me. I love to wander the Quincy Market Place and people watch pick up some chicks.
I left Boston once. And I don't mean for a vacation. I have a younger sister, Daniela. If you talked to her about her childhood, you'd think we grew up in different homes. I can't deny being my father's "favorite" but only because he treated her unjustly to spite my mother. It's such a drama filled soap opera I don't want to get into the details. She was living away, going to school and I decided to transfer because I missed her. I found her living with Audra, her best friend since before they were teenagers.
I enrolled in the master's program for business and finance while there. It was the only thing I knew. My dad, he's a very successful investment banker and he took me under his wing. Once we hit high school, he always got us summer jobs at the bank he ran. I hate to say this but "of course" I got more hands on experience while my sister helped the secretaries and office managers. During my time at school I had two serious relationships but once school ended so did they and returned to Boston.
I've grown up since then. I got my own place off of Newbury St and branched out on my own. My old man wanted nothing more than for me to succeed him at his bank. However, I just couldn't deal with him and how he dealt with my sister. I have another sister but she's not Daniela's sister. I don't agree with how he dealt with her either. But it's all one huge drama that took place a long time ago. I found my niche at a different institution and worked my way up. I was the youngest, fastest moving tie in the history of the company. That's how I got offered the opportunity to help set up the first midwestern branch here in Madison. How could I pass up the opportunity?
I'll be here for six months, at least. I was relocated to this qauint subdivision where I specifically asked for the simplest layout. No reason to get fully settled if my stay is only temporary, right? I'm hardly bringing anything from my place in Boston. Just some clothes, my laptop and my wii. I'll rent the furniture.
Sounds like a plan.
